Growing up on a farm in rural Iowa, Dr. Mark Kraklio always had a love and interest in animals and the life sciences. When he was 10 years old, Dr. Kraklio's dog Lucy died of an accidental poisoning. It was the kindness, knowledge and compassion shown to him by a local veterinarian, that prompted him to be a veterinarian.
Dr. Kraklio graduated with distinction from Iowa State University, College Of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. He joined the staff at Golf Rose Animal Hospital as an associate veterinarian that year. In 1996, Dr. Kraklio became an owner of Golf Rose Animal Hospital. Dr. Kraklio's professional interests are small animal internal medicine and surgery.
Personal interests are fitness, Chicago Cubs, reading and travel. Dr. Kraklio and his wife Christine have four children and a Boston terrier, Fiona.
Born and raised in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Todd Landoch has been a member of the Golf Rose team since 1989. Dr. Landoch started as a technician assistant and helped out wherever needed just to gain experience in the field of veterinary medicine.
He received his DVM degree in 1995 from Michigan State University and returned to Golf Rose as a veterinarian. Veterinary medicine fulfilled Dr. Landoch's long term interests of working with animals and medicine.
At home, he has a Labradoodle named Emma. Outside of work he enjoys going to the movies, personal fitness and triathlon racing.
Dr. Amanda Haase grew up in the Cleveland area and lived briefly in California before settling in the Chicago suburbs. She graduated from Ohio State University in 1997 and started working at Golf Rose in 1998. Dr. Haase worked the night shift at Golf Rose for 8 years before switching to the day shift.
She still loves seeing emergency cases, but has really enjoyed bonding with the clients and patients that she now sees on a regular basis.
Dr. Haase and her husband Peter, have two children, two dogs and three cats. In her spare time, she enjoys distance running and reading.
Dr. Karen Hailpern grew up in Colorado and received her Veterinary degree from Colorado State University in 1991. She met her husband while doing research on black bears in North Carolina and has been working at Golf Rose since 1998.
When she's not at work she enjoys hiking, cooking and sewing. A few years ago, Dr. Hailpern adopted two adorable stray cats, Bonnie and Clyde, from Golf Rose. True to their names, Bonnie is a trouble maker and Clyde just goes with the flow.
Dr. Mark Muskal grew up in Skokie, Illinois and had a strong connection with animals since he was very young. He went to veterinary school at Purdue University and worked in California as a veterinarian. Dr. Muskal joined the Golf Rose Team in 2009 and works primarily as an emergency vet, but is at the clinic for routine appointments on Tuesdays.
Dr.Muskal enjoys the challenge of saving critically ill or injured animals on emergency as well as performing orthopedic surgeries. Dr. Muskal has one dog, a shepherd mix, who was adopted from a shelter. Her name is Alice. She is a very devoted and protective family dog. In his spare time, Dr. Muskal plays hockey and enjoys spending time with his two sons and his family.
Dr. Kristin McClure grew up in Schaumburg and worked at several animal hospitals in the area starting when she was 16. She studied veterinary medicine at the University of Illinois and graduated in 1996. Dr. McClure did an equine externship when she was in school, and an injury helped her decide to NOT work on horses professionally.
She joined the Golf Rose team in 1999.Dr. McClure has a son, Liam, and a menagerie of animals at home including two dogs- Coffee and Leonard (Lenny), three cats- Norton, Rosie, and Zoe, a cockatiel- Birdie, a hamster and a Russian Tortoise- Spotty
In Dr. McClure's spare time she enjoys camping, hiking, kayaking; and loves to read stories!
Dr. Paula Roney is originally from Indiana but spent most of her childhood in Chicagoland. She has always had an affinity for animals and science. She grew up watching 'All Creatures Great and Small' on PBS about Dr. James Herriot and admired his work and the bonds he formed with clients and patients.
Dr. Roney attended UIC for undergraduate studies and did research in the neuroelectrophysiology department there and graduated with high honors in Biology. She went to veterinary school at the University of Illinois and joined the Golf Rose team in 2014.Dr. Roney loves the fact that every night brings different challenges. Each shift brings new opportunities to learn and grow as a clinician. She’s glad that she can be here to help people and their pets when most hospitals are closed.
Dr. Roney loves to travel, socialize, read, go to the zoo, enjoy the lakefront and watch documentaries.
'Dr. Lou' is a Chicago native who returned from living out-of-state after undergraduate school in order to marry her high school sweetheart. She and Wayne took turns putting each other through graduate school here in Illinois.
They now live in McHenry County with their three dogs and six chickens. Although the fresh eggs are the best, they are a little labor intesnsive!! Dr Lou and her husband no longer have horses, but they are working on getting several stray cats to move inside to domestic life. Dr Lou and her husband have a daughter and three grandchildren living in the Chicago area, so there is always some activity to attend.
Dr. Alex Schroth grew up in Rochester, NY and received her bachelor’s degree in Biology & Psychology from University at Buffalo. She then went to warmer climates to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts.
Dr. Schroth finished her clinical studies at University of Wisconsin-Madison and was awarded her doctorate of veterinary medicine in January of 2017. She joined the Golf Rose team in 2018 and is particularly interested in soft tissue surgery and internal medicine.
In her free time, Dr. Schroth enjoys hanging out with her island dog, Roti, her rescue Pit Bull, Dexi, and her island cat, Frankie. She loves fishing, camping, just about anything outdoors, and football (Go Buffalo Bills!)
As an undergraduate, Dr. Kaderly studied biomedical engineering and developed a passion for the problem-solving aspect of medicine. This passion combined with a lifelong interest in animals made veterinary medicine an obvious choice for Dr. Kaderly.
He loves the day-to-day variety that veterinary medicine brings and enjoys working with various species and medical disciplines.
Dr. Kaderly was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska and after attending veterinary school at the University of Illinois, he joined the Golf Rose in 2019. He is especially interested in surgery and internal medicine. When he’s not at work, Dr. Kaderly enjoys spending time with his cat, Nim, playing acoustic guitar, outdoor activities and cooking (and eating!)
Dr. Cameron Kindra grew up admiring and training with his uncle, who is now a retired veterinarian. He enjoyed learning how to solve the challenging cases that his uncle saw daily. This aspect of veterinary medicine fostered his curiosity in the profession.
He went on to the University of Illinois Veterinary School and received his DVM degree in 2018. Dr. Kindra has spent most of his career as an emergency clinician, learning to manage a wide variety of medical & surgical cases in the emergency setting.
Born and raised on the Northside of Chicago, Dr. Kindra is also an avid Chicago sports fan. He can often be found watching or playing sports of all types including golf and going to Orangetheory classes with his wife, who is also an emergency veterinarian. He also loves gardening, house projects, and spending time with his family.
Dr. McCratic will be re-joining Golf Rose Animal Hospital two days a week starting in July of 2021. She was part of the Golf Rose team from 1999- 2018 when decided to pursue certifications in acupuncture, (chiropractic) veterinary spinal manipulation and rehabilitation medicine.
In additional to regular appointments she will offer acupuncture and chiropractic work on Wednesdays. Not only are Dr. McCratic and the Golf Rose team excited to be reunited, but we're also eager to share her increased knowledge in rehabilitation medicine with our clients.

With over 20 years of experience in the veterinary field, Jennifer understands the ins and outs of our clinic. She is here to assist you with any questions or concerns and help your pet’s Golf Rose experience be a 10/10 every time.
Jennifer started her veterinary career at Golf Rose in 2000. During her time here, she held positions as a client care coordinator as well as a day and night time technician. In 2008, her Golf Rose career led her to a new position directing a Humane Society in Florida giving her experience both on the clinical side and non-profit side of animal care. She has helped a variety of animals from dogs and cats to sugar gliders and rats, rescued ducks, raccoons and squirrels and even lived on a farm with goats, pigs and horses.
