Paula Roney, DVM, Overnight Emergency Doctor

Dr. Paula Roney is originally from Indiana but spent most of her childhood in Chicagoland. She has always had an affinity for animals and science. She grew up watching ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ on PBS about Dr. James Herriot and admired his work and the bonds he formed with clients and patients. 

Dr. Roney attended UIC for undergraduate studies and did research in the neuroelectrophysiology department there and graduated with high honors in Biology. She went to veterinary school at the University of Illinois and joined the Golf Rose team in 2014. Dr. Roney loves the fact that every night brings different challenges.  Each shift brings new opportunities to learn and grow as a clinician. She’s glad that she can be here to help people and their pets when most hospitals are closed.  

Dr. Roney  loves to travel, socialize, read,  go to the zoo, enjoy the lakefront and watch documentaries.
