Abby Byrd, DVM

Dr. Abby Byrd has wanted to be a veterinarian ever since she can remember. She has always loved animals. She joined the Golf Rose team after receiving her degree in veterinary medicine from Iowa State University. Being a full-service animal hospital and emergency clinic, Golf Rose is a great fit for Dr. Byrd. She enjoys helping pets in emergency situations and surgery as well as building those life-long relationships with clients. Recently, Dr. Byrd has been studying more ultrasound techniques and is looking forward to learning endoscopy in the near future as she continues to find a niche she is passionate about.

At home, Dr. Byrd has two dogs — a chocolate lab, Harper, and a Jack Russell terrier mix, Oliver. Both are rescue pets and about four years old. According to Dr. Byrd, they are the best of friends. When she’s not at work or spending time with Harper, Oliver, and her husband Clayton. Dr. Byrd loves traveling and exploring. She enjoys going out to eat, hiking, camping and running.
